Room 10 & bucket filling

Today we had a new student join our awesome classroom – welcome Yufan!

Yufan comes to us from ABC and already knows a couple of students from there!

At the moment we are learning about bucket filling . We all carry an invisible bucket that contains our feelings.  When our bucket is full, we feel great.  When our bucket is empty, we feel sad.  A bucket filler is some who says or does nice things for other people.  By doing this, they are filling other people’s buckets and filling their own bucket at the same time.

On the other hand, a bucket dipper says or does things that causes others to feel bad.  A bucket dipper empties their bucket when they say or do mean things.

We are encouraging each other to fill buckets each day by doing nice things – helping others, using our manners, saying hello to the teachers on duty or greeting the bus driver when we hop on the bus.

Students are encouraged to fill buckets at home also, I would love to hear how students are filling the buckets of friends and whanau.

Keep an eye out for Piwakawaka syndicate’s new bucket filling foyer display that will be up next week!
