4pm Update 23rd March – Covid 19

Dear Families, Caregivers and Whānau of Stanley Avenue School.

Today’s announcement by the Prime Minister, states that due to the growing escalation of Covid-19 cases, schools will close as of tomorrow for all students. The exception is for the students of essential service workers.

These include:

Medical services (doctors, nurses and ambulance drivers)

Service station workers

Essential Banking services

Police

Pharmaceutical workers

Supermarket workers

Children of essential service workers may come to school tomorrow and Wednesday, while plans are put in place to ensure services can continue.

The school holidays will be brought forward to enable a four-week lockdown. I will provide more information to you regarding this as it comes to hand.  During the lockdown, everyone will be required to remain in home isolation, respecting the physical distancing requirement.

Please refer to: covid-19.govt.nz for further information.

Please respect the new alert levels and keep you and your loved ones as safe as possible.

Further communication will be ongoing via our school app, Facebook page and website.

Kind regards

John Byers ( Principal)

Mark Baillie (BOT Chair)
